THC and CBD

cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are chemical components found in the marijuana plant. Each strain of marijuana has varying levels of each of these components. when purchasing cannabis products, you will find cbd and thc information on the packaging or from your dispensary.

There is a difference in PSYCHOACTIVE effects between the two chemicals. THC produces the “high” associated with marijuana because it binds with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. CBD binds very weakly to those receptors, and fails to produce the same “high” feeling that thc does.

Products with a high cbd ratio are often preferred by medical marijuana patients because it can relieve pain but not hinder one’s focus.
